Promises ...
  • All my campaign signs will be removed directly after the election.
  • I will hold not-less-than two community meetings a year (if elected) to listen!
  • I will initiate and innovate, not just react.
  • I will donate my entire Board of Supervisor stipend ($12,000), if elected, to a charitable organization if acceptable, (perhaps to Powhatan Coalition of Churches to help pay real estate taxes for elderly, fixed-income residents, or to Habitat for Humanity).
  • I will be open to what is said in public hearings, learning all I can from each citizen.
  • I will make every attempt to "ride with," participate with, experience what each of the County's agencies deals with (sheriff's office, social services, school board, schools, special ed, building inspections, etc.) with permission and as allowed by law.
  • I will form bi-racial committees to review candidates from the District for any appointed position for which I am responsible (including those the whole Board must approve, including the Planning Commission).  These bi-racial committees will make recommendations to me based on criteria the committees and I generate together.
