4. Goal driven; focus on the prime deliverables;
due diligence and hard work.
To seek out/demand hard evidence to inform my
deliberations and analyses and to undergird my decisions.
5. Commitment to personal, organizational,
professional, and staff excellence.
Duty: to deliver results and take responsibility with
courage and discipline because it’s the correct definition of
public service.
6. Respect for the past; dealing with today’s
opportunities and issues; preparation for our chosen future.
7. Vision: to
build a what-can-be picture of our future; not to settle for
business-as-usual/status quo if it no longer makes sense.
8. Dignity: to
represent the people quietly, calmly; to understand the
seriousness of governance; to build trust and respect for the
office of Supervisor.
9. Teamwork: to
recognize that we’re all in this together, that conflicts and
disagreements don’t make us enemies; to understand I do not
know everything and cannot “have it my way”; to acknowledge
the dignity and principles of others with whom I might disagree.
10.
Inclusion. To invite all stakeholders to the table ... and to
listen with head AND heart. Continue to positively involve our
African-American citizens in the governance process. |
