  • President, Concerned Citizens of Powhatan County, Inc. (which successfully fought the 300-acre Richmond landfill planned for Powhatan and another prison for Powhatan)
  • Led the effort to save and return-to-use abandoned St. James Chapel
  • Successfully led the challenge to the Virginia State Police's planned Firing Range in Powhatan
  • Organized the Old River Trail annual clean-up for the past 27 years
